If you find a wild animal that is injured, disoriented, trapped, or in a risky situation, it is important to act responsibly to protect both the animal and the public.

Do not attempt to capture, handle, or feed the animal. Observe from a safe distance and take note of:

Report the situation immediately by calling 911.

Follow the authorities' instructions.
Authorities will determine which specialized unit should intervene based on the species, location, and condition of the animal. Remember that the rescue, transport, and handling of wildlife must only be carried out by authorized and trained personnel.
